Street-Style Peanut Cheese Chaat

A vibrant and tangy street-style snack combining crunchy peanuts and creamy cheese with zesty spices, perfect for a quick and flavorful bite.

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts
  • 100g paneer (Indian cheese), cubed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tbsp tamarind chutney
  • 1 tbsp green chutney
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup sev (crispy chickpea noodles) for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the roasted peanuts and paneer cubes.
  2. Add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chili, and coriander leaves to the bowl.
  3. Pour in the tamarind chutney and green chutney, then toss gently to coat the ingredients evenly.
  4. Sprinkle chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to incorporate all the spices.
  5. Add lemon juice and give the chaat a final gentle toss.
  6. Transfer to serving bowls and garnish generously with sev on top just before serving to maintain the crunch.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, add a dollop of yogurt before serving or substitute paneer with fresh mozzarella for a fusion twist.
