Delightful spinach and feta puff pastry twists that are crispy, flavorful, and perfect for a snack or appetizer. These easy-to-make twists combine fresh spinach with creamy feta cheese wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add chopped spinach, season with salt and pepper, and cook until wilted, approximately 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cooked spinach, crumbled feta, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. Spread the spinach and cheese mixture evenly over half of the pastry sheet.
  7. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and gently press down to seal.
  8. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the pastry into 1-inch wide strips.
  9. Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Brush each twist with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
  12. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle some sesame seeds or crushed red pepper flakes on top before baking.
