Gluten-Free Greek Yogurt Bagels

These Gluten-Free Greek Yogurt Bagels are soft, chewy, and packed with protein, making them a wholesome alternative to traditional bagels.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain, full-fat)
  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 egg white (for egg wash, optional)
  • Sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, gluten-free flour, baking powder, salt, and honey/maple syrup if using. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Lightly flour a surface with gluten-free flour and knead the dough gently for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then shape each into a bagel by poking a hole in the center and stretching it to form a ring.
  5. Place the shaped bagels onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops with egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds or seasoning if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bagels are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy plain or with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute Greek yogurt with a thick plant-based yogurt and check that your gluten-free flour blend is suitable.
