Ginger-Spiced Apple Holiday Bake

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. Add brown sugar, grated ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, melted butter, vanilla extract, and chopped walnuts to the apples. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the apples are tender and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
