garlic Parmesan chicken pasta

This creamy garlic Parmesan chicken pasta combines tender chicken breast, al dente pasta, and a rich, flavorful sauce for a comforting and easy weeknight dinner.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes per side until cooked through. Remove from skillet and slice.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream; bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Add red pepper flakes if using, and season with additional salt and pepper as needed.
  8. Toss the cooked pasta and sliced chicken into the sauce; mix well to coat.
  9. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add steamed broccoli or spinach to the pasta before tossing in the sauce.
