Chocolate Date Bark

Deliciously rich and naturally sweet, Chocolate Date Bark combines smooth dark chocolate with chewy dates for a healthy, energizing treat perfect for snacking or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 1 cup pitted Medjool dates, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate gently in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper and spread it evenly to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped dates, almonds, shredded coconut (if using), and sea salt evenly over the melted chocolate.
  5. Press the toppings lightly into the chocolate to ensure they stick.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate is fully set.
  7. Break the bark into irregular pieces and serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or drizzle some orange zest on top before chilling.
